2023 NCCTM Conference in Winston-Salem NC
We are excited to host the annual PST Poster Session! The event will take place in person duirng the NCCTM State Conference, to be held in Wiston-Salem, NC. The purpose of the PST poster session is for pre-service teachers to share high-quality mathematics tasks (elementary, middle, or high school) with peers and colleagues from across North Carolina. Pre-service teachers can submit poster proposals individually, or in teams of 2 or 3. See below for submission and presentation information. Questions? Contact Katie Baker at kbaker17@elon.edu .
Accepted submissions will have the opportunity to present a high-quality math task as a poster at the 2023 NCCTM conference.
Proposal Submissions Deadline: Proposals are due by Friday, October 13th, 2023.
For the proposal you will submit:
Name(s) of presenter(s)
Grade band (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12)
Mathematics Strand (e.g., geometry, number, algebra)
Title of your task
Learning goals (objectives) for the task
Brief description of the task (word count limit: 50 words)
Brief explanation of how the task aligns with the learning goals and how the task develops conceptual understanding among students (word count limit: 75 words)
Participants will be notified of acceptance. An acceptance email will be sent that includes poster guidelines and session timing information.
Each poster must be presented on freestanding poster board (a trifold board recommended as pictured at top of this website) and must include:
Task Title
Grade level and/or grade band/course name
Mathematics strand(s)
Learning goals (objectives) related to the task
A list of NC Mathematics Content Standards and Mathematical Practice Standards addressed by the task
The task (if the task is adapted, cite the original source)
Sample (or hypothetical) student work
